Lenvid Privacy Policy
Lenvid is a teleprompter and video app for iPhone and Android, published by Sinh Giang (“we”). This policy explains what the app does with your information.
The short version
- There is no account. We do not know who you are.
- There are no ads and no tracking.
- Your videos, scripts and captions are stored on your device.
- Three optional AI features send data to a server. They send nothing until you agree on a screen that explains this, and you can turn them off again in Settings.
What stays on your device
- Your projects and scripts.
- Every video you record, and every video you export.
- Captions. Speech is transcribed by a model that runs on your device.
- Silence and filler-word detection, and the cuts you approve.
- Background removal (“Professional layout”).
- Your saved brand voice. It is stored on your device, and a copy is sent along with an AI request as described below.
We have no copy of any of these. Deleting the app deletes them.
What leaves your device, and when
Only after you have agreed to AI data sharing in the app, and only when you use one of these features:
| Feature | What is sent |
|---|---|
| Write with AI | The idea you type, the length you ask for, and your saved brand voice. |
| Rewrite from reference | The link or the text you paste, the length you ask for, and your saved brand voice. |
| Delivery feedback | The audio track of the take you chose and the text of its script. The video picture is not sent. |
This data goes over an encrypted connection to the Lenvid server, which we run on Vercel in the United States. The server passes it to Google’s Gemini API to produce the result, returns the result to your device, and does not save your content. If you paste a link, the server also sends that link to Supadata, a transcript service, to fetch the spoken text of that video.
How Google may use what you send
Lenvid uses the free tier of the Gemini API. Under Google’s terms for that tier, Google may use what you send to provide, improve and develop its products and machine-learning technologies, and human reviewers at Google may read, annotate and process it. Google says it disconnects this data from the account and API key before reviewers see it. Do not put sensitive, confidential or personal information into the AI features.
These services have their own policies: Google, the Gemini API terms, Vercel and Supadata.
Other connections the app makes
- Speech model. The first time you make captions, the app downloads a speech model file from Hugging Face. Nothing about you or your video is sent; like any download, the host sees your IP address.
- Fonts. The app downloads its fonts from Google Fonts the first time they are needed.
- Background removal. This uses Google’s ML Kit on your device. Your images are not sent anywhere. ML Kit sends Google technical diagnostics: device model and OS version, app version, a per-installation identifier that is not meant to identify you, performance figures and error codes.
- Script follows your voice. While rehearsing, the app can use your device’s speech recognition to follow your reading. On iPhone this is Apple’s speech recognition, and Apple may process the audio on its servers under Apple’s privacy policy. On Android it is the speech service set on your phone, usually Google’s, which may process the audio on its servers under its own privacy policy. We do not receive the audio.
- Updates. The versions from the App Store and Google Play are updated by the store and never check for updates themselves. Only the Android version installed from the file we publish on GitHub does: it asks GitHub whether a newer version exists and, if you choose to update, downloads it from there. Nothing about you is sent; GitHub sees your IP address.
- Server logs. Like any web service, our hosting provider records the time, the address requested and the IP address of each request to the Lenvid server. We use these only to keep the service running.
Permissions
- Camera and microphone: to record you while you read.
- Speech recognition: to follow your voice while rehearsing.
- Photos: to save finished videos to a “Lenvid” album, in Photos on iPhone and in your gallery on Android. The app does not read your other photos or videos.
- Nearby devices (Android): so speech recognition can use the microphone of a Bluetooth headset you have connected.
You can turn any of these off in your device’s Settings. The matching feature stops working; the rest of the app does not.
Sharing and selling
We do not sell your data and do not share it for advertising. The only parties that receive data are the service providers named above, and only to make the feature you used work.
Children
Lenvid is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Your choices
- Decline the AI data-sharing screen, or turn it off later under Settings › AI data sharing, and nothing you write or record is sent to the AI services.
- Delete a project or the app to delete its data from your device.
- We hold no account or stored content for you, so there is nothing on our side to export or delete. For data held by Google, see Google’s policy above.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
